Persuant to this Provincial priority, the Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, was tasked to lead this initiative of the merger. On the 1st April 2010, the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency was formed in terms of the MEGA Act (Act No.1 of 2010).
