MEGA, in partnership with Africa investor (Ai), the Mpumalanga Provincial Government and Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MPTA) hosted a Tourism and Infrastructure Investment Summit. THe summit showcased a number of game-changing tourism and hospitality investment projects and opportunities and debate policy options to improve Africa's investment brand equity and appeal to global tourism and hospitality investors. The summit included a special focus on key projects in the Province as well as Pan-African tourism projects. The Summit, held in February 2011 at Mduli Conference Centre in Skukuza, in the Kruger National Park, was attended by delegationss from a number of countries in Africa including Zimbabwe, the Middle East and delegates from as far as the USA. It prepared a way to deliver a follow up summit which would deliver a concrete way forward towards implementing vigorious sustainable projects to up the tourism industry for the benefit of all. There were projects identified in the Mpumalanga Province in places like the Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes, Loskop Dam, Wellness Centre in Mashishing and many others. If these projects are implemented, they will provide thousands of jobs, which hitherto did not exist. |
